5:00 – Kings start overtime with a 4-3 power play and enough time to work with him.
0:00 – Lots of chances for LAK with the extra man, with the entire overtime playing at the end of Vegas. Benelli hit the post in the final seconds, but no one could bury the dagger and the game went to a penalty shootout.

third period
20:00 – work in progress at three. LAK will look to put some pressure on Vegas and get back into the game.
12:41 – LAK Goal, Chromiak. The Kings had an extended zone time at the end of VGK and Chromiak pounced on the puck, making it past goalkeeper Jesper Vikman. Brandt Clark received his third assist this week, while Aato Jamsen was a starting assistant.
10:56 – The Kings tied a penalty kick on Matias Sapovalev and earned their third point in the match.
9:58 – LAK Goal, Chromiak. Two goals for the young Slovakian in less than three minutes, bringing the match level to 4-4! Clark and Akil Thomas assisted in the strike.
9:10 – Penalties against Riley Fedler Schultz for tripping and Justin Knatchbauer for elbow, Kings made their first time today, 2 minutes 5 for 3. LAK chose to use her time to prepare for the penalty.
6:50 The Kings do an excellent job during shorthand, limiting the chances of Vegas. Highlights were blocked by Inamoto and Clarke, while Helenius and Spence also scored the time. But Inamoto is called to intervene and VGK is back on the force.
4:40 Another first-class penalty kick for the Kings brought them back with equal power with less than five minutes remaining in order and a tie, 4-4.
3:28 Kings are called up to too many men on a pass sent near the bench area while changing defenders. Vegas returns to PP in an attempt to break the tie.
0:21 4 consecutive late penalties kept the Kings in the match. An excellent team effort in the third period.
0:00 With time running out, Vegas forward Carter Sachs brought down Brandt Clark and was called up for the match penalty for an illegal head check. The Kings have the power to play throughout the 5-minute overtime.

second period
20:00 – The Kings started the second half in a strength match for 1:56, looking to build up some of the late chances they had at the end of the first half.
15:55 – Golden Knights goal, Mason Primo. The pass found Primeau open in the hole for a quick shot that beat Hrenak by five holes. Vegas widens the difference to 2-0.
13:07 – LAK Goal, Rossmy. Kings climb to the board with a shot from Bennett Rosme, who was left wide open in the low slot. One assist was scored in the play for defender Landon Kosior.
9:20 – Hrenak’s Latif saves with a dash chance from the left circle that hits his shoulder and then looks at the post and is out of play.
7:33 – LAK Goal, Ward. Leaving Ward with plenty of room in the corner, Ward focused the disc for Brett Kemp and peeked at the Vegas stick and into the net. Linemates Pinelli and record Kemp helped score the equalizer that put us at 2-2!
5:00 – In an effort to put the Kings ahead, Aqeel Thomas fired a shot from the right circle off the post.
1:42 – Golden Knights goal, Landon Ahash. The blueliner found an open space on the left point and fired a high shot over Hrenak’s gauntlet to regain the lead in favor of Vegas.
0:24 – Goal of the Golden Knights, Conor Corcoran. A deflected shot in front of obscured Hrenak fluttered at the back of the net and put Vegas ahead, 4-2.
0:00 – A difficult end to the period for the Kings, who played well and got 14-7 shots on the edge of the goal in the frame, but allowed three hits in the net and the duo are trailing in third.

The first period
20:00 – Game 2 of Rookie Faceoff is in progress!
16:58 – Nice gauntlet saved by Hrenak in a good chance of rushing to Vegas. The Golden Knights produced the first few shots on target early on.
14:34 – Taylor Ward popped up yesterday and had a fast start again today. His first two bouts resulted in multiple chances and he was physical as well, throwing his body into the attack zone.
12:00: Golden Knights goal, Lyndon McCallum. He found a loose puck ball on the side of the net after an initial save by Hrenak and pushed it home to put Vegas ahead 1-0.
7:43 – Vegas defender Leighton Ahack snatched the ball from the win in the confrontation with the Golden Knights and took it into the net before Hernack blocked it.
7:39 – Kings striker Justin Nachbauer drops the gloves with Mason Primo, resulting in the first penalty shootout of the match for both sides. Nachbaur will play his second professional season on an AHL contract with AHL Ontario, after spending time with AHL Charlotte and ECHL Greenville last year.
6:12 – Conor Corcoran received a Vegas penalty for an interference and the Kings were getting their first point of the day.
4:52 – The LAK unit made up of Thomas, Ward, Chromiak, Spence and Clarke did very well on the man advantage, giving fans a good look toward the team’s future offensive talent. There they were unable to score, however.
0:51 – Good looking 2-on-1 for Chromiak and Rossmy. Chromiak was selected to shoot and Rossmy was unable to recover the rebounding ball.
0:04 – In the last seconds of the period, Corcoran called for the wand to be cut from Helenius’ hands. The Kings will open the second half with their second playing opportunity.
0:00 – Vegas takes a 1-0 advantage in the first break. A very even period saw a total of 12 shots on target per side.
